The roof was not sliding freely in the channels. I did notice the new slider shoes were a lot wider then the old ones (see picture IMG_2694.JPG).
So I tried filing down the new sliders a bit more, but the roof just didn’t want to slide nicely back and forth.
In the end I was fed up with it and installed the old sliders again. They weren’t that bad, and they can relatively easily be replaced with an installed roof.
I can always change them to the newer (filed down even further probably) ones on a later date. If you open the roof a little, and then force the bow at an angle, the bow will be free from the channels.
With the old slider shoes the roof slided much nicer.
I also attached the two cables that hold the sides down to the attachment point at the motor.
